It was a magical multi-cultural wedding with a little of both worlds, full of vibrant colors, jewelry, family members, and of course, awesome music and food.
Since the day we met Cecilia and Amitesh at our studio, we knew their relationship was like no other. Though she is from Mexico and he’s from India, their worlds are not that far apart because their love is full of magic and sparks..
After spending the day with C+A in a romantic outdoor engagement session, we knew that their upcoming urban–style wedding at The Newberry Library would be even more magical.
We loved their cross-cultural choices for the wedding day. First, she chose to wear a traditional Sari for the first part of the day and Indian wedding makeup. We met the bridal party at the W Hotel for a Trolley ride throughout downtown Chicago. It could not have been more perfect for a photographer —Chicago landmarks galore! It reminded me of what we call “La Chiva” in Colombia, South America!
After stopping at the Shedd Aquarium, the Water Tower, and a few other stops on Michigan Ave we ended up at The Newberry Library. The Newberry is located north of the Chicago River, and is an historic venue built in 1887, which makes this venue a unique choice for a special future wedding or event.
To celebrate her Mexican heritage, Cecilia changed to her wedding gown for the traditional catholic wedding ceremony. The ceremony was conducted in English and Spanish, which created very special moments. The Library was perfectly decorated with beautiful arrangements and candles. The bouquet and boutonniere in peacock colors was the perfect match for a blending of different cultures and traditions.
Cecilia and Amitesh, thanks for let us be part of your love story. Now you’re part of our lives!
