Venue SIX10: Christen + Mark

July 16, 2015

There are a lot of couples that leave a mark in our life every weekend and Christen and Mark did just that with their destination wedding at Venue SIX10.

When we arrived to the Heaven Suite at the Blackstone Hotel Christen, her mother and her brother (also Man of Honor) welcomed us with a smile from ear to ear and anxious to start documenting their day…and now I know why they were so ready.

Not only did the bride look incredible, but so much happiness filled the room that it’s just too hard to explain…laughter, tears (happy ones of course), nerves and a little bit of dancing mixed with champagne is glimpse into what was taking place.

Christen’s dress gave you excitement just by looking at it, it looked so elegant and perfect that it was hard to stop taking pictures of it…and it was even harder to stop when the bride finally put it on.

When we got to the groom’s suite the story seemed to repeat itself, Mark greeted us with a bear hug sharing all his happiness with us! It was in that moment that we understood that they are made for each other and we would be part of their story that was just beginning. As witnesses of it we would also have a huge responsibility of capturing their emotions just as they would be happening throughout the day.

After their first look, that was both exciting and challenging for Christen, since she didn’t want to cry, they enjoyed pictures around Grant Park with their friends and “compinches”.

When the time finally came for the ceremony to take place, even though Christen and Mark had already seen each other, tears of joy once again filled their eyes. They couldn’t believe they were minutes away from making their dream a reality, something they had shared and planned from far away. A little hard to believe it isn’t a dream anymore when you have the love of your life in front of you.

In love, romantic, happy, human and very family oriented is how we will always remember Christen and Mark. Thank you because as you can see you have impacted our story and we are positive that with your love and great personalities you will continue to impact others.

Despite Christen and Mark living in NY and their family and friends in different cities, Chicago was the lucky city to see this couple become Mr. and Mrs.

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET
Juancho + Johana

We’re Johana and Juancho — partners in life, creativity, and capturing love stories across the globe. Juancho’s journey began with bold determination: he moved from Colombia to the U.S. with nothing but vision, passion, and a deep love for people’s stories. He bought the best lens on the market before even owning a camera, and after his first engagement session with friends, he came home glowing. That spark turned into a decade-long career rooted in emotion, connection, and purpose. Juancho has a magnetic personality — the kind that makes fast friends with strangers on planes, in grocery aisles, and even with our UPS guy. Weddings, with all their energy, humanity, and beautiful chaos, are his favorite kind of playground.

I bring a different kind of energy to the team. With a background in modeling and a career as a radio and TV host, I’ve always lived in creative spaces — and now I channel that into editorial work and wedding storytelling. Juancho likes to call my eye “the girly point of view,” but really it’s about noticing what often goes unseen: the softness, the glances, the stillness in between the big moments. Maybe it’s the journalist in me, but I’m always drawn to the why behind the image. Together, we balance each other — and we love creating with people who value that harmony of heart and art.
